Tuition Fees & Private University Costs

Private Universities:  €7,000 – €20,000 per year (depending on program & institution)

Initial Payment & Financial Proof (Bank Statement / Proof of Funds)

To apply to private universities in France and for the student visa, you (or your sponsor) must provide proof of sufficient funds covering tuition + living expenses + other costs.

Generally:

  •  You need to show proof of funds for at least the first academic year, including tuition and maintenance (living) costs.

  •  According to official guidelines, a minimum of €615 per month (≈ €7,380 per year) is required to cover living expenses (if tuition and fees are already accounted for).

  • For private‑university tuition plus living & other expenses, realistically you should plan for tuition + ~€7,000–€9,000 (or more) for the first year, depending on the tuition level.

  • Documents commonly required for proof of finance / visa

  • Bank statements for the last 3–6 months showing required balance (or a sponsor’s bank statement + sponsorship affidavit).

  • Proof of tuition fee payment or deposit (if required by the institution)

  • Proof of housing/accommodation or sufficient maintenance funds (in case living cost isn’t covered by scholarship)

Admissions & Campus France Process - What You’ll Need

When you apply to study in France as an international student (from Pakistan), the general process involves:

  • Registering via Campus France: a mandatory step before applying to many universities.

  • Submission of academic documents: high school diploma (for Bachelors), or bachelor’s degree (for Masters), transcripts, certificates, etc., attested as required.

  • Language proficiency: depending on course and university: English proficiency (IELTS/TOEFL) for programs taught in English.

  • Statement of Purpose / Motivation letter, CV: (and letters of recommendation for postgraduates) if required.

  • Proof of financial resources: as detailed above (bank statements, sponsor affidavit or scholarship letter)

  • Pre-Enrollment: Once pre- enrollment via Campus France is completed and you get acceptance from the university, you proceed with visa application.

Costs & Other Expenses

Living Costs & Other Expenses

Besides tuition, you should budget for living costs, which vary depending on city and lifestyle.

Monthly maintenance: Around €615/month minimum (for modest living). Accommodation, food, transport, health insurance, costs will vary depending on city (Paris vs smaller cities) and accommodation type (student dorm, private housing, shared apartment, etc.).
